We have asked that Paul record the session so those of us who cannot attend on Sept.12 can learn too. The U.S. isn’t the only place talking of disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church. The Church in Liberia is meeting to discuss the future of Methodism in Liberia. The “African Initiative” favors disaffiliation while the “United Methodist Forum” advocates the unity of the UM Church. They are trying to hear every United Methodist’s view on the separation question. But no action will take place until after the 2024 General Conference. Lahaina United Methodist Church has been burned in the Maui fires. No members were killed, but many are displaced. Midwest Mission is doing projects and accepting donations to respond Also donations may be made to UMCOR Advance #901670 designated “Hawaii fires”. 950 students from 19 African Countries graduated from Africa University on June 10.
